My best artwork this year in my opinion is my final artwork of the pencil drawing because I really like how that one turned out. I would like to redo the popsicle stick house because I didn't get to make it as good as I would have liked and I would have liked to add color to it. Something that I learned in art class that I can apply to outside life is to take your time and do your best. I wish that I could have gotten to use clay while in art this year but distance learning made that hard so I couldn't do that.

This is a self portrait that I drew using pencil, the hair and lips are shaded and the rest is just drawn normally. I created this artwork to try and make it look like me and my goal was to make it as realistic as possible but it didn't turn out quite how I would have hoped, it did turn out looking pretty realistic but it doesn't look like me as much as i would have liked it to. Overall it is a good artwork and I like it but i wish I could have been able to make it look more like a self portrait.
I'm going to try and make a self-portrait pencil drawing using paper and pencil and I will be trying to do shading and detail to make it look as realistic as possible
I created this artwork using cut up pieces of paper towel rolls, wrapping paper tubes and a stapler. I took the small circles that i cut from the paper towel rolls and wrapping paper rolls and started stapling them together and eventually got it to the size I would like so I stopped. It looks kinda like a flower or a snowflake in my opinion. Some principles that I included in this artwork were pattern, unity and movement. My goals for this artwork were to make something that looked good and was fun to make. My overall thoughts on this artwork are that I like how it turned out and it was fun and easy to make.
This artwork shows balance because of how nicely everything goes together and how the colors look together. The artist that created this artwork is named Gani Odutokun, the artwork is called "Our children see sunshine behind cloud" and it was made in 1990. The materials used were acrylic paints and canvas. The seven principles of design are- Pattern, Balance, Proportion, Emphasis, Unity, Movement and Variety.
I created this artwork because I like how these small stilt houses look so I thought I'd try to make one. I used popsicle sticks, hot glue, a straw and some fabric. I was surprised by how long this took me to make for how small it is but I had to glue all of the popsicle stick together individually which took a little time. I looked at a lot of pictures online to help me decide how I wanted to make mine and I drew out some sketches on paper. I like how this turned out but I could have made it better if I had just a little more supplies than what I had where I was. at the time.
I am interested in trying to build a stilt house. I am going to try to build one using popsicle sticks, hot glue and fabric.
James Rizzi's artwork is very unique, it has a lot of different colors and shapes. In his artwork there is a city and the buildings look as though they are designed to each be a little different because each one is either a different color or a different shape. They have faces on them and each face is different. It is a very busy artwork, there are a lot of boats, planes, birds and even spaceships in it. I think he made a successful artwork because it definitely keeps you focused on it. There is a lot of different little things to look at on his artworks. When creating my "Rizzi Cityscape" it was fun because I got to play around and just do what I wanted and color it how I wanted to. I didn't like how it turned out very well because the only thing I had to color in the buildings with were my brothers jumbo crayons and they didnt work to well but overall I still had fun creating it.
My goals for this semester are to make good art and get better at using the materials more and doing more hands on art techniques. Right now I am still working on getting better at art and trying to learn more about it.
